Rivergrass Wealth Management Manifesto:
The southeast coasts of the United States are an ancient ecosystem that require discovery to understand their hidden beauty. Often best appreciated in low angle light of the mornings and evenings when the sunlight is filtered through low clouds as if through a stained glass window. Our mountains are the towering cumulonimbus clouds, ever shifting so that our horizon changes minute by minute. And the grasses are ever present.
These grasses provide shelter for the fish, crabs and oysters in the brackish estuaries. The beach grasses a nesting area for migrating shorebirds. And further from the shore, the fresh water river grasses track the slowly moving tannin-stained rivers and creeks. However, there is a less obvious function of these grasses that has done more to carve the contours and shifting sands along the coasts and inland rivers: We are shaped by weather; the winds and waves of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico are always working to change the lay of our land, to breach the marshes and beaches, continually seeking new territory.
The grasses of the rivers, marshes, and beaches protect our land. They act as a foundation: binding together the loose sands on the beaches and decayed matter flowing from the rivers. And they act as a shock absorber. Taking the beating of the relentless waves and bands of wind; be the cause a nor’easter, hurricane, or flood tide. So that by the time the wind driven waves reach higher ground, they have been blunted by the shallow waters, softened by the endless savannas of spartina and sawgrass. On the sandy beaches, the sea oats’ roots hold the sand and the leaves knock down the wind-blown particles, causing the dunes to grow wider and higher. In the big storms, these dunes protect our homes and land.
At Rivergrass, we have a love for the coasts and rivers of the low-lying lands along the southeast. And we feel it is our duty to our clients to act as a line of protection against financial storms while preserving the rhythm and beauty of community and relationship during the quiet-times. The logo direction was completely guided by these words. We incorporated colors of the river environment, energy and lighting, type that represented strength, trust and knowledge, and shapes that brought these two concepts together in a unique, honest way.
